Cybersecurity and NIS2, essential challenges for Spanish companies according to industry experts

Cybersecurity has become a key and transversal factor for companies and administration, especially with the imminent application of the European NIS2 regulation in Spain. This was made clear at the round table discussion organized by Economía 3, in collaboration with the INCIBE-UPV Cybersecurity Chair, where specialists from technology companies, insurance companies and universities agreed on the urgency of transforming cybersecurity from mere legal compliance to a true strategic business axis.
The experts pointed out that the lack of specialized training and talent continues to be one of the great challenges for the sector in Spain, while many companies continue to see cybersecurity as a cost and not as an essential investment for business continuity. They also warned that, far from focusing only on complying with the NIS2 to avoid sanctions, organizations should prioritize comprehensive risk management, the identification of essential assets, the implementation of alerts and automations, and the awareness of managers and employees. All agreed that this is the only way to ensure resilience in the face of increasingly sophisticated and widespread cyber-attacks.
